Ex-pat Nest Egg

Our English clients and their three young children currently live in Singapore but plan to retire to the UK. They were anxious to gain a foothold in the fast-moving London property market and initially felt an apartment would be sufficient for their retirement needs. (And would be easier to rent out in the interim.)

As their search progressed, the husband realised how much he would value living near open green space and a golf course. Having lived in a large apartment in Singapore and with their children growing up (and hopefully grandchildren on the horizon), it became clear that a family house would be more appropriate, particularly if they came home sooner than anticipated.

We introduced our clients to some of the best of South West London’s family-friendly areas: Richmond, Barnes and ‘Between the Commons’ (his favourite). We ensured they were first to see a charming 4 bedroom period house just off Wandsworth Common, within easy reach of the shops and cafés of Northcote Road. Whilst unlikely to be relevant for our clients, excellent local schools and an easy commute to the City bode well for reliable long-term family tenants.

Having acquired the property for our clients at a small discount to the asking price, our Interior Design team moved in quickly to prepare it for rental.
