Brought in part way through a project to manage the process and deal with any issues.
It all started as a favour (helping to find some marble) and morphed into a full project management role, controlling some difficult builders with whom we had not worked before. Our client’s London pied à terre, a charming cottage in Chelsea, deserved better!
- Our client’s detailed brief had evolved throughout this relatively small project and unfortunately his builders had lost interest.
- With 2 children, a busy career and splitting his time between London and the country, he needed this project finished.
We seized this project by the scruff of its neck! Our technical experts drew up the outstanding architectural items – pocket doors, New England-style cladding and bespoke joinery for the son’s bedroom. We hunted down marble to match a much loved bathroom in our client’s previous London home, no mean feat given how much this material varies from slab to slab. Regular site visits, often twice daily, ensured the builders kept on target and we brought in specialists to deliver more delicate work, notably the hanging of beautiful handmade wallpaper by Tissus d’Hélène. The result was a serene, shabby chic interior, perfectly matching our client’s personal style.
