Full advisory on property search, acquisition and refurbishment.
A City lawyer tired of his long commute/staying in hotels asked RFR to help him find a 2 bedroom flat with parking, somewhere close to the City but with weekend appeal for his family.
- Locating a property with character but in good condition and with limited need for ongoing maintenance.
- Finding a parking space in boroughs where new builds and resident permits do not go hand in hand.
- Balancing convenience now with future rental and long term capital growth potential.
Having moved out of London when children came along, our client and his wife had limited experience of the residential areas fringing the City. We organised tours covering different areas (Shad Thames, Wapping, Shoreditch and Clerkenwell) and types of property (from practical new builds to quirky warehouse flats).
Shad Thames, with its Tower Bridge views, charming cobbled streets and good restaurants, provided the right balance of convenience in the week and weekend entertainment. We identified a property in a converted wharf where characterful features did not compromise the space. Detailed estimates from our project management team allowed our client to offer at a level which left room to replace the dated kitchen within budget.
