Full advisory on property search and acquisition.
Our clients, a young couple with a growing family and an energetic dog, had already decided on a move from Islington to “Between the Commons” in pursuit of good schools and more green space. With busy careers involving considerable business travel, what they lacked was time to execute this decision.
At the time there was an unusually high volume of potentially suitable stock on the market – a nice problem to have but daunting for our time-poor clients!
Our biggest challenge proved to be the chain – we had to balance the requirements of the inexperienced buyers of our clients’ previous home (moving from rented with inflexible notice provisions) with those of the vendors of their new house (moving into a doer-upper with a chain above).
With these clients, the brief was clear from the outset. Our role was to shoulder the burden of their search so that they could minimise time spent away from their work and family. We previewed a large number of houses, producing a shortlist for our busy clients to view.
The result was the perfect family house on a pretty street with plenty of bright living space and a decent sized garden. Thrillingly we managed to acquire this property for below the asking price and it needed minimal work so the family could move straight in.
