A largescale design project in Notting Hill (which our Search team had found for the clients and our Interior Design team were working with the clients to create their home) including plans for a basement. Having had our plans approved by RBKC, a neighbour then brought a judicial review against the council’s decision.
Our clients were unsure of the implications so brought us in to advise them. We enlisted a trusted lawyer and barrister to understand the clients’ position and coordinate a written response as well as to interact with the council’s legal team.
We also worked alongside our own Project Manager to keep the refurbishment schedule on track; creating an alternative strategy that included acquiring backup planning permission without the basement so that works could continue above ground. Ultimately the council won the judicial review allowing us to implement the full scheme, without any real loss of time for the project.
