Buying to develop

With deep roots in the Fulham area, our clients were keen to work their way up the local property ladder and wanted to find a ‘project’. In this area good properties were often selling before they came on to the open market and there was fierce competition between developers and end users for extendable, unmodernised houses. The challenge was ensuring that our clients did not overpay and therefore retained sufficient budget for any ensuing programme of works.

Our strong relationships with the local agents meant we became aware of an impending probate sale on one of Parsons Green’s most sought after streets. We secured them the earliest viewing of this property before advising on valuation, likely refurbishment costs as well as managing all elements of the transaction.

Having completed the project in under 12 months, our clients only allowed themselves an 18 month break before moving on to the next project. We stepped in to advise on sale strategy and their stunning but cost-effective refurbishment secured them a record price for the area and a substantial return on their investment.
